Hot bum

I try to get the express bus that comes around 8am because the others would be quite filled and I would have to stand all the way- it is a long way, about 25 minutes.

This morning, there was a particular double-seat that was unusually left vacant. I was going to be one of those who would stand and I was looking at the seats. Everyone was avoiding it because there was some liquid spilled on it.

One of the ladies sitting behind those seats said to me that it is just oil cos someone who came earlier spilled oil on it. Actually it really did smell like minyak angin (eucalyptus/ nutmeg oil).

So I took out my wet tissue to wipe them off. Why wet tissue? Cos they smell like rose and I want to get rid of the eucalyptus/nutmeg smell.

You are now thinking the conclusion of the story is that I would end up having a wet bum that smelled like rose. Wrong.

I had every intention to using my dry tissues to wipe the seats after using the wet tissue. However, the next stop was not very far away and people were just filling the bus very quickly. I had to get into the seat!

The problem is the moisture had not evaporated and I suppose minyak angin is like acid/base elements. It needs H2O to show its properties. I won’t describe it but I guess most of you know the sensation of minyak angin/ eucalyptus oil on skin.

The lady who sat beside me didn’t know what happened but she sure knew the sensation because after a while, she placed the newspaper she was reading under her bum. I had to stifle myself and look out the window.

Hey, at least she had newspapers!!
