Petrol prices went up by 30 sen yesterday

That’s an 18% hike. OUCH!

Must tell boss to increase mileage claims by that %.

Inflation as per the Consumer Price Index in Jan was 3%. The CPI is definitely lower than my inflation rate. And yours if you live in KL.

Smart of the government to announce the price hike at the end of Feb, so that Feb’s CPI will not reflect that inflationary pressure. And when Feb’s CPI is announce, it will be almost April. And March’s CPI would come almost May- by which time the unhappiness would have subsided. Malaysians can be so forgiving. Or forgetful. Or cowardly. Or all of the above.

But I’m keeping count. Let’s wait for March’s CPI.

Tonight on PRIME TIME TV across ALL terrestrial channels, our prime minister in waiting went ‘live’ on what must have been a rehearsed interview, conducted by the government owned channel of RTM1.

Let me repeat: ALL terrestrial channels carried it the same time. On PRIME TIME.

So if I don’t have satellite channels I am doomed to be submerged in propaganda. (I’m now thinking we might event get the full script published in all newspapers tomorrow).
