Transience
So HSBC has this new security device for Internet banking. It would seem fancy thus impress some.
Methinks it is bollocks. Why would I want another device in order to do Internet banking? So that each time I need to access my account I must get another security code from this device. What if I do Internet backing at multiple access points? I need to carry this thing all around. What if I lose it? Another trip to the bank. Beats the purpose of Internet banking. And what if this device ran out of battery? I have to go GET battery. Do I? And the box doesn't say.
I thought the whole purpose of Internet banking was CONVENIENCE.
I expect Internet security technology to be good enough that my user ID and my password would suffice.

Dr House, MD, was told: Wouldn’t you rather believe the best in somebody and then be disappointed than to always be cynical?
You would think the person who said that sits right at the extreme end of the cynic. But it is the better end. No?
I’m certain I will see you again before I leave.
Déjà vu.
I would like to believe him. But many a man has freely given many a fleeting promise that could make insurance firms go broke.
But he is one person I would like to believe. Because he wiped my hands dry when I got burnt. Because he moved my drink as I moved. Because he persuaded me to go for U2’s concert, and drove 2 ½ hours to pick me up and then 5 hours to Kansas City. Because he remembers my birthday every year.
I have not seen him in eight years. I forgot how sweet and thoughtful he can be. And how easy he is to be with.
And I am a bit sorry I hurt his feelings then. I never knew. But I am glad we are friends :)
